Update on Caleb

A couple months ago you may remember an email from Tonya requesting help for a child in need. The request was for breastmilk for Caleb who was born with Trisomy 13 disorder. We recently received an update from his mother, Perla. Please read below...

Dear women,

All of you have shared your liquid gold with my little guy during his first year of life. I believe your milk and mine have been one of the reasons why he has been so healthy in spite of the odds.

His pediatrician expressed her amazement recently at how healthy Caleb has been for how fragile he looks. I say God has put a shield around him somehow, and breastmilk has given him good immunity.

We are celebrating Caleb's first year of life with a small get-together this coming Saturday. It won't be a children's party per se, but more of an opportunity for some people to meet Caleb and for us to express our gratitude.

See the details below. I hope that you can join us.

Dear all,

This is the official invitation to come to celebrate the life of our special little boy.

As you know, almost a year ago our family started a bittersweet journey. Nobody thought we would come this far, but today Caleb is still with us bringing lots of love and tenderness to our lives. We do not regret the experience and hope to have him with us much longer.

We are not throwing a big party. We are rather looking forward to an intimate time with some of the people who have played a vital role in our family's life this past year. Some of you haven't met Caleb, so this would be a great opportunity.

We will be getting together at my sister-in-law's home on Saturday, March 26th.
